Jet Black Alley Cat
For musicians I offer a lot more than just photos for your next Instagram post. While you’ll get the standard Editorial experience when you shoot with me, you also have access to a ton of other cool content like…
- Dope video clips. With the average Millennial attention span standing at a whopping 8-12 seconds, getting out succinct, on-brand content is imperative now more than ever. Ask about adding a video package to your shoot for behind the scenes clips and cool promo visuals – the creativity is endless. To see some clips I created leading up to an EP release, click here.
- Electronic press kits. An electronic press kit, or EPK, is a digital interactive PDF file that tells a media source about your music, brand and work. It includes everything from links to your Spotify and Soundcloud to photos, news articles, music video links and contact info – all laid out in a visually pleasing, on-brand direction. Want an example? Click here.
- Graphics + gifs! Creative content is essential, and it’s even more important to be interactive. Also who doesn’t like gifs on Twitter?
- And of course, photography. Just as with my editorial shoots, this is a collaborative creative environment. I want to hear your music, understand what influences you, and truly get a good idea of who you are and what your music represents so that we can execute it flawlessly. If you don’t necessarily have a vision yet, that’s okay too. We can collaborate on ideas to get you grounded and focused on your brand as a musician. Keep scrolling to see more photography, but first…
A little bit of backstory behind these content examples for you guys: These are my friends and longtime clients Jet Black Alley Cat. While touring last year shooting for their Motel EP release, I stood on our motel dresser and took this photo with the disco ball on a Polaroid camera. (I also bedazzled the jackets, but we won’t talk about my glitter hobby.)
When this photo to the left developed, I think we kind of knew right then that it would be the one. It was THE shot. When we got back home, adding the sparkles in Photoshop to make a .gif was really the only thing changed apart from brightening it up for print some, and then I gave it their music below to use as a preview of their single ‘Miami Baby.’
This is just a sample of the kind of work I do for musicians. Whether you need an EPK to send to press contacts, video footage, photography or just image and brand consultancy, reach out and let me know your thoughts. I can’t wait to work with you!
